Set within the five‑star Gilpin Hotel & Lake House, Gilpin Spice is a 2‑AA‑Rosette, Michelin-recommended open‑plan restaurant serving pan‑Asian dishes with flair, fire, and finesse. It’s fast-paced, full of personality, and loved by guests for its immersive, relaxed luxury. We’re now looking for an exceptional Restaurant Manager to lead this exciting restaurant into its next chapter.

 

👨‍🍳 The Role of Restaurant Manager:

As Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day leadership and smooth running of Gilpin Spice. You’ll champion guest experience, team development, operational excellence, and commercial performance. You’ll work closely with the Head Chef, F&B leadership, and the wider hotel team to ensure Spice continues to shine as one of the Lake District’s most exciting dining destinations.

 

🌶️ What You’ll Be Doing as a Restaurant Manager:

  • Leads with warmth, confidence, and personality to set the service tone and deliver exceptional, memorable guest experiences. 

  • Maintains a visible floor presence, anticipating needs, resolving feedback swiftly, and elevating every stage of the guest journey.

  • Recruits, trains, coaches, and inspires a high‑performing, collaborative front‑of‑house team within a positive and inclusive culture.

  • Drives continuous development through structured briefings, skills training, and regular performance conversations.

  • Oversees daily operations with precision, ensuring consistency, efficiency, immaculate standards, and full compliance across SOPs, health & safety, and allergen management.

  • Manages labour planning, rotas, holidays, and resource allocation in line with business needs and service demands.

  • Supports commercial performance through menu development, revenue monitoring, cost control, guest‑feedback analysis, and effective reservations and capacity management.

  • Collaborates closely with kitchen and wider hotel teams, ensuring seamless communication and representing Gilpin Spice confidently in internal and external forums.

Position: Full-Time hours available | Competitive Salary | Flexible start

Salary: from £38,000 to £40,000

Gratuities are allocated on a points basis, depending on development tiers. Although variable, average levels are projected as being from £877 per month.
